In my seven years of producing work as an animal rights artist, these have proved to be the most technically difficult and emotionally charged pieces that I’ve ever created. Thanks to having access to brilliant photographs taken at ‘Animal Save’ vigils, factory farm rescues and on sanctuaries, I’ve attempted to capture the strength, compassion, trauma and joy of activists as they perform acts of the highest moral courage. These unsung, everyday heroes form the very heart of the animal rights movement, and I wanted to pay tribute in the only way I can to people I regard as the most humane of all humans.
